As ASN grows and more content flushes through the main feed its all too easy to miss those announcements. Here is how to solve the problem
Join A Network
1) Go to your profile page and click the SETTINGS tab
2) Here you will see currently the available networks
3) After choosing your netorks, go back to the main feed and hover or click MORE
4) Now you can see your networks and choose which ones you would like to see on the main feed. To get back to the standard main feed, simply click ALL UPDATES
No. Images in the main feed can only be posted one at a time.
To add more than one image at a time, please use the Album feature which you can read more about here.
1. Open the Albums tab on your profile page
2. Click on the "Add More Photos" link.
3. Select the album from the drop down menue that you would like to add more photos to or create a new album.
4. Click the link "Add Photos". When the window pops up, you can choose more that one image by holding your control key (or command key on Apples) and select each picture you would like to add. *You do not have to do one image at a time. This will just spam the main feed.
5. Select OPEN. Once uploaded, you can save the images or remove them. Click the Save Images button.
6 Each of the images you choose to save will upload in a window where you'll be able to add titles and descriptions.
**Most Importantly, please remember that this is a Family Safe website. For more information on what that means, go to What does Family-Safe content mean?
As the website is growing we have more and more content, valuable information, good reads, fun stuff. To find content of interest now you can search the website for anything and everything. Just click on the Search tab on the main menu.
Unless the poster of that content made it private or limited to access it, the search engine will list it for you.
It's categorized and you can search in every section of the website separately to find what you are looking for, or just search in Everything. The search result is easy to look through, clear to understand.
The trick to make your Page or Group popular among members and on the web is continuously. New content, new posts, activity. To make you group or page grow really fast you should post at least once a day, keep it going, let others see that it's alive and cared for. People don't like to see abandoned pages or groups, they want to see activity and content.
Remember the true success in everything you do is start doing it and keep doing it!
May your group and page grow large and popular!
As the number of members are growing we have created Networks based on our members' interest. Eventually we will sort the Main Feed by these networks so everyone can choose what content to see.
Our networks right now are the followings:
World of Warcraft
Everyone can choose their prefered network in Settings under the Networks tab.
Pages are the best way to advertise your club, business or art and build your own comunity for that here on Avatar Social Network to expose it more online.
Please make sure that all content of pages are in line with our general rules.
Do not create any pages that you do not have the rights to. In other words if you are not the owner, manager of the club, business you make the page about, or you do not have their permission to create a page for them then please don't.
Every member can create maximum 3 pages following general website rules.
If you already created 3 pages but you need more please contact one of the administrators and request permission to create another page.
It is important that all members keep an eye on this because when Linden Lab is doing maintenance or there is any trouble with the grid, rezzing, transfering objects, purchasing items or using Linden transactions in any way can cause loss. Anytime you see in this feed that Linden Lab is working on maintenance please do not use the ASN ATM until they are confirmed that that everything is fixed. You can freely keep using the website and let your balance grow until then.
See the Grid Status Feed under the website's main feed. Keep an eye on it.
This is the most misunderstood posting method here at ASN. Blogs are like magazines or news papers. Blogs contain articles for those who want to read interesting stuff, so a blog post should be a good reading, so when people browse the blog articles they can enjoy reading them and dwell in them so to say. Posting something in the blog with a few lines or sentences in it usually results it's removal. Make your blog posts look like an article, preferably with photos or if no photos then at least a good reading about Second Life, Opensim, IMVU, video games, etc.
So how can you tell if you should use the blog posting method instead of the other two? It's easy. If the Main Feed and Forums would not support the purpose of your blog post, if it is more an article than a status feed or a discussion topic, then post in blogs.
The major difference in Blogs vs Forums and Main Feed:
It's getting to the readers and engaging them as an article with preferable photos and more than one paragraph. A good reading.
It's basically the same what you use on Facebook. You post short stuff about yourself, friends, what's going on right now, what you are thinking about, post or share links, articles you have read somewhere, shopping, clubbing, fishing, etc. Basically just updating your status. reaching out, telling people what's happening with you, or what's going on in general. It can be one word or a whole paragraph.
The major difference in Main Feed vs Forums and Blogging:
It's fast paced. That's what everyone sees first, you get responds (likes, shares, comments) fast, and the best way to reach out, let others know what's up at the moment. It's visible on main feed for a shorter time.
You create new or respond to existing topics here that are opened for discussions, sometimes friendly debates. It's easy to browse around in different topics, the discussions stay there visible, people can always add to it until the topic is closed.
The major differences between Forums vs Main Feed and Blogging:
It usually calls for a discussion, a debate that members can participate to for a long time, responding to each other publicly back and forth, share their opinions, doing basically the same thing they would on the main feed, but it lasts longer and visible longer, newer members can join to older discussions easier too.
Please note, content posted in the wrong category or section may result removal.
